I design digital banking products that ship as white-label platforms. The constraint is the work: patterns have to hold across tenants with different risk appetites, and decisions have to survive compliance review before they reach a backlog.

Multi-tenant configuration Security Hub — one place to see how protected you are Consolidating security controls scattered across an app, when every institution enables a different subset of them. Platform store policy In-app feedback and store ratings The obvious way to raise your store rating is the one that gets your app rejected. Finding and holding that line. Ambiguous scope Scan to Pay — a camera-first payment flow Two different products hide inside the phrase "scan to pay". Resolving which one was being asked for came before any screens. State across an auth boundary Authenticated deep linking Routing customers from a public website into the right authenticated destination, without losing what they tapped.
About

What I do, and where it came from

White-label means a single system that many financial institutions brand and configure as their own. Documentation has to be precise enough that business analysts and developers can build from it without me in the room, and any pattern I design has to degrade gracefully when a tenant has switched half of it off.

My route into design ran through ten years as an optical dispenser at Specsavers — technical product knowledge, constant problem-solving, and training staff across a store. Working with people directly has always been the part I am best at, and it is still most of the job.
